What Causes Dry Spots In Your Eyes

DermTV Syringomas White Hard Bumps Under Your Eyes DermTV Epi 224

Hello, I'm Neal Schultz pause and welcome to DermTV. Today's topic comes from one of Siobhan'sviewers from the YouTube LetzMakeUp channel, that's LETZ MAKEUP. And the question is what are those white hard bumps around the eyeƩThey don't act like pimples and they don't respond to treatment like pimples. There's a very good reason they're not pimples. They look like whiteheadsbut they're not. First of

all, they're usually below the eyes, notnext to the eyes or above it, it's usually on the lower lid and they can be whiteor yellow, they can be round or oval and they can be flat topped or sortof dome shaped. They have a special name; they have nothing to do withacne, they're called syringomas and syringomas are really enlargements ofsweat ducts, having nothing to do with oil glands. Let me show you. This isour favorite diagram of the skin and this sweat gland is down here in the middleof the dermis, the middle layer of the skin and when it makes the sweatit has to get the sweat up to

the surface of the skin. So it sends it upthrough this tube which is called a sweat duct and as it comes out ofthe dermis, the middle layer of the skin, it enters the epidermis, the upperlayer of the skin. And when that duct, that tube, going through the epidermisbecomes enlarged, it forms a syringoma. The enlargement of thispart of the duct forms that white, hard, round bump. If you squeeze them, nothing comes out, if you put a pin in them, nothing comes out because they'resolid, they're just enlargements of those tissues and cells thatmake the channel. How do you

treat theseƩ No creams or skincare productsmake any difference. If you come to a dermatologist's office, each oneindividually has to be operated on, either electrically cauterized or cutout but there's no cream that's going to make a difference. So, if you havethese little, white, round bumps of the lower lid and they bother you,see a dermatologist and he or she can help remove them but no cream is goingto help take care of this one.

Miracle treatment for dry under eye skin

Hello, again, everyone! I want to talk toyou today about something that has really changed my skin recently, specifically theskin underneath my eyes which, for me, has been a real problem, especially over the pastyear. As I've mentioned before, my skin has just been getting really, really dry and oneof the areas that just has not responded to any treatment has been my undereye area andthat's a problem because, as you know, if you have dry skin around your eyes, then yourconcealer's going to stick to it and it's really, really unpleasant to look at. It'salso uncomfortable. You know, this goes back to my whole quot;I'm not using powderquot; thing.Part of the reason is because the skin gets

so dry that any amount of powder just turnsit into alligator scales. So, it's. it's a problem. So, I got a sample of the Josie Maran argan oil in a MyGlam Bag, I think in January, so,just last month and I started using this under my eyes and it made such an amazing differencewithin even just a week. It made such a difference I can't even believe, honestly, becauseI've used a lot of different products under my eyes. I've used Aquaphor every night, I'veused different skin care oils and nothing has made as big of a difference for me asthis has. These little guys retail, I think, for $14and if you're just using it as an eye treatment,

it'll last quite a while. They recommend thatyou use it for your cuticles, your hair, your body, whatever. I'm personally not inclinedto go buy an expensive skin care oil for something like cuticles because a cheaper one like grapeseed oil will do just fine. I'm sure this is wonderful for cuticles, but I'm not goingto . it's expensive stuff. So, all I do is wash my face. I do my tonerand my toner's for dry skin, so I bring it up under my eyes and then I use one drop onmy fingers and then just dot thatI get it right up in here because I get little, tiny, crepey creases up in here and I wanted to really moisturize that area and get it torelax a bit. And it has. It's made a very

visible difference, I think. I tried to getsome before and after pictures for you guys, but my skin is so shiny and so translucent,it's really hard to photograph that close. You just end up seeing all my blood vesselsand stuff, so I'm going to spare you. But, you can take my word for it. If you have dryskin under your eyes and if you've been struggling, trying to find something that will keep itfrom looking flakey under your concealer, I would definitely recommend picking thisup. Like I said these are $14 and it's not theJosie Maran brand necessarily that you need to get. I've never used a different type ofargan oil, but it's not like this is the only

brand of it. You can find ingredient supplierswho sell skin care oils and buy argan oil that way and I'm sure it's a lot cheaper.Or you can just go to Sephora and buy one of these guys. Either way.And also, I don't want to say that there's no other skin care oil that can do what arganoil is doing for me, at least. There are a lot of different skin care oils. They allwork very well for different things and for different people. I've used grapeseed oilunder my eyes, which is a nice oil, and I really, really like it, but it wasn't doingwhat argan oil was doing for me. That's not to say that there's another oil that wouldn'tdo the same thing that argan oil's doing for

me, but over the past month, I've been usingthe argan oil and it's been making a huge difference, so that's why I'm recommendingthis specific oil. But, if you don't want to purchase the argan oil, if it's not availablenear you, you can try a different kind of skin care oil. I would be careful. I'm goingto talk about comedogenic oils in another tutorial comedogenic meaning the types ofoils that are poreclogging but in this tutorial, I'm just going to say that for reallydry undereye skin, using a skin care oil and, in this case, argan oil, has made a hugedifference for me. Thank you, guys, very much for watching. Ifyou have any questions, let me know, and if
